Call to Action: Don’t let the building code council restrict energy choice!

September 13, 2021

We need your help to protect energy choice. The Washington State Building Code Council (SBCC) is considering proposed changes to the state’s commercial energy code that will severely restrict energy choice, increase building and energy costs, and force a reliance solely on electricity for the state’s energy needs.

This is a precursor to banning natural gas on residential construction.

Tell the SBCC to vote NO on restricting energy choice

Let the SBCC know you oppose these proposals on or before the SBCC’s Sept. 17 meeting

  1. Submit written opposition by copying and pasting this message and sending it to: sbcc@des.wa.gov; stoyan.bumbalov@des.wa.gov .
  2. Testify at the Sept. 17, 2021, meeting of the State Building Code – View talking points and testimony tips.

Thank you for your assistance in preempting this attack on our ability to serve Washington families.
