The BIAW family mourns the loss of Gordon (Gordy) Gregg, 63, who passed away after a long struggle with melanoma. BIAW recently learned Gordy died on March 11 in his hometown of Topeka, KS. He retired there in 2020, after running City Builders of Lynnwood, WA.

Gordy’s colleagues and former employees remember him for “the magnitude of his passion and how gentle and loving his heart really was.” They also credit him for his leadership in the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties and BIAW Remodelers Councils. He chaired the BIAW Remodelers Council in 2004 and chaired the MBAKS Remodelers Council in 2001, earning the MBAKS Exceptional Service award. He also served as a BIAW State Director in the early 2000s.

In 2005, Remodeling named Gordy Gregg a Top 50 Market Wise winner. A Certified Green Builder (CGB) and Remodeler (CGR), Gordy’s obituary notes he was an “early adopter of  green building practices.”

“A creative builder and resourceful problem-solver, Gordy helped generations of Seattle residents improve and expand their homes,” it says.

We thank Gordy for his enormous contributions to our industry and his leadership in our association.  Our condolences to all who knew and loved him.
