We’re hiring a membership manager

BIAW is hiring a Membership Manager to take on the role left by Karen Hall. This position will have a direct hand in working with local associations and membership growth.

As the membership manager, we’ll ask you to:

Manage membership marketing:

Plan, organize and execute all membership marketing for BIAW, including closely working with BIAW’s 14 local associations to:

  • Scheduling, developing, training, attending and speaking at local association events
  • Staff liaison between local associations regarding BIAW membership dues, reports, processes
  • Staff liaison for BIAW’s Membership Committee and Associate Advisory Council at board meetings
  • Staff liaison for Spike Party/Spike Party chair: support chair with Spike Party, including marketing, sponsorships, invites, attendance, prizes, etc.
  • Create original content for a membership article in BIAW’s monthly magazine, Building Insight
  • Gather, disseminate and update interested parties on monthly membership data from NAHB
  • Manage monthly NAHB membership data uploads (WMS) to BIAW’s database (Salesforce)

Manage program marketing:

Plan, organize and execute marketing for BIAW non-dues revenue programs: ROII; BIAW Health Insurance; Education Classes; Contracts Subscriptions Service; and other affinity programs. Marketing activities should be coordinated with BIAW’s 14 local associations and service partners and may include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with BIAW Communications Department to create marketing materials and publication advertisements
  • Scheduling, developing, training, attending and speaking at local association events
  • Create original content for BIAW’s monthly magazine, Building Insight and other electronic publications and social media platforms

Manage sponsorship packages:

Create a new sponsorship program for BIAW and recruit a group of annual sponsors for the association. Sponsorship recognition could include advertising in print and electronic publications, recognition at events, etc.

You will also be asked to:

  • Serve as the BIAW staff contact for Member Rebate Program and 2-10 Home Builders Warranty Program
  • Assist as needed at BIAW Board of Directors meetings
  • Serve as the BIAW staff contact for the office’s fundraising activities and events, as requested
  • Other duties assigned by Education and Workforce Development Director or Executive Vice President

As the membership manager, you’ll need:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Experience performing and directing membership or sales duties
  • Excellent communication, written and oral, with a diverse set of stakeholders and vendors
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent multi-tasking, attention to detail and leadership skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Project-oriented and proven ability to complete projects successfully
  • Ability to work both independently and in a small team environment
  • Experience with planning

Level up with these bonus skills:

  • Experience working with non-profits, business/trade associations or residential home builders/remodelers

The selected membership manager must:

  • Have the ability to travel throughout the state
  • Be willing to participate in occasional night and weekend events
  • Hold a current, valid driver’s license
  • Have reliable personal transportation and vehicle liability insurance
