National 40-under-40 celebrates five Washington remodelers

May 6, 2022

It’s National Remodeling Month! And NAHB’s Pro Remodeler magazine recently celebrated its 2022 40 under 40. The story recognizes 40 of the best remodeling professionals from around the country for their ability to adapt and thrive in the face of ongoing challenges in the industry.

There are plenty of savvy DIY’ers who can find their way around a home improvement project or two. But this month is our time to acknowledge remodeling professionals. Professional remodelers breathe new life into older homes, creating custom spaces for their clients.

Five Local Remodeling Professionals make 2022 40 under 40

The 2022 40 under 40 list spotlights five local remodeling professionals. They’re all members of the Master Builders Association of King & Snohomish Counties.

Jason Taylor, Project Manager, VanderBeken Remodeling

A project manager for VanderBeken Remodeling since 2020, Jason has improved operations and procedures by creating a Standard Operating Procedure and an Expectations Agreement. He also revamped the company’s pre-construction Ground Rules Contract. With clear expectations and standardized processes in place, Vanderbeken now provides the same quality of work no matter the size or scope of the project.

David Callahan,Project Manager, CRD Design Build

Starting as a carpenter’s apprentice, David worked his way through the ranks at CRD Design Build to become a Project Manager. David recognized if the company wanted to reach its five-year goals and keep up with the shifting industry, it needed a multi-project management system. With two project managers, a production coordinator and a production manager, the company handles up to 20 projects with the same system and team in place.

Lars Blazina, Estimator, Pathway Design & Construction

When Lars joined Pathway Design & Construction, pulling job cost information for the estimation process was burdensome and inefficient. Seeing the need to cross-reference this data, Lars designed a job cost database using Excel. Implementing this database has resulted in estimations done in a fraction of the time while clients are led through the sales process faster.

Allison Scott, Interior Designer, Nip Tuck Remodeling.

Allison understands the importance of a design that works for the clients. When meeting with new clients in their homes, she observes how they move in the space. Then, looking for flow and function and layering personalized details, she shows clients how she created the final design just for them.

Leslie Eiler, Design Manager, CRD Design Build

Leslie is credited for improving her company’s design process by harnessing everyone’s skillsets and clearing up bottlenecks. This improvement allowed the company to triple its capacity and sustain a lineup of future clients. All of this aligns with their long-term goals.

Congratulations to everyone on your national recognition in Pro Remodeler’s 40-Under-40!
