BIAW invests $60,000 to build future construction workforce
OLYMPIA — The director of the BIAW Washington Home Builders Foundation joined staff at Griffin Bay School recently to provide a $3,300 grant to support their Building Futures: Career & Technical Education program.
That’s just one way the WHBF is making a difference this year through its annual scholarship and grant programs.
The foundation awarded $60,000 this year to support the next generation of builders, including $30,000 in scholarships to 17 students and $30,000 in grants to nine construction training programs across Washington.
2025 Scholarship Recipients
Seventeen students received scholarships ranging from $1,690 to $2,300 to support their education in construction-related fields:

· Cassadie Golding, University of Washington – Civil & Environmental Engineering (Master’s) – $2,010
· Liam Grice, Washington State University – Construction Management – $1,960
· Gregory Kilian, Seattle University – Civil Engineering – $1,915
· Molly Malone, Washington State University – Civil Engineering – $1,825
· Andrew McIntyre, Bellingham Technical College – Industrial Maintenance and Mechatronics – $1,750

With these awards, BIAW and WHBF have distributed nearly $890,000 in workforce development funding since 2012.
