The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) named BIAW Executive Vice President Greg Lane its Executive Officer of the Year. They announced the award at the 2025 Association Management Conference in Atlanta on Aug. 19.
A true servant leader
Since joining BIAW six years ago, Greg has modernized the association, secured a new headquarters, strengthened member programs, and guided builders through the pandemic.
In 2025, he led the successful fight for energy choice, helping gather more than 546,000 signatures in just seven weeks to qualify Initiative 2066 for the ballot—the second-highest total in state history. The measure passed in November, the only statewide initiative to succeed that year.
Under his leadership, BIAW’s flagship ROII program returned $26 million to members, enrollment in the BIAW Health Trust grew by 9%, and the association's 2024 membership drive added 444 new members. Greg also championed the launch of a new Construction Trades Training Academy and supported the expansion of Professional Women in Building councils statewide.
BIAW President Kent Arola called him a “true servant leader” whose “tireless advocacy and commitment to homebuilding make him more than deserving of this prestigious honor”
Rising to leadership
The Executive Officers Council also confirmed Lane as the 2026 President of the Executive Officers Council. As a leader within the council, Lane has the opportunity to advocate for the needs of state and local home building associations and influence the association's strategic direction with senior leaders at NAHB.
