Located in Skagit County, where members of the Skagit/Island Counties Builders Association live and work, the Mount Vernon Downtown Association received $10,000 this year.
BIAW Vice President of Business Development Bart Hansen delivered the check and stopped for a photo on his way to the annual SICBA Peer to Pier Cruise.

Supporting communities and reducing tax burden
Main Street Washington, part of the national Main Street America program, has supported community-driven economic development since 1984. Today, over 40 Main Street organizations operate across the state, each focused on preserving local character while fostering growth.
In addition to helping Main Street programs thrive, MSC directors leverage the Main Street Washington Tax Credit Incentive Program to secure a $37,500 Business & Occupation (B&O) tax credit—75% of their total investment.
Any Washington business may contribute up to $250,000 annually to Main Street organizations or the statewide trust fund to take advantage of this tax credit.
