November 18, 2024
The Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) proudly inducted long-time Building Industry Association of Clark County member and 2021 BIAW President Tracy Doriot into the BIAW Hall of Fame last week during the 2024 BIAW Fall Board Meeting in Vancouver.
“An exemplary leader, mentor, and advocate, Tracy’s contributions to BIAW and the homebuilding industry have left a profound and lasting impact,” said Jay Roberts, BIAW’s 2024 President.
Unwavering dedication to the homebuilding industry
Doriot joined the Building Industry Association of Clark County (BIACC) in 1982 and quickly distinguished himself through his deep industry knowledge, integrity and dedication.
He’s held multiple roles at BIACC, including serving as BIACC President in 2009, 2010, and 2016, and as State Director since 2006. Recently, he stepped up again to lead at BIACC, agreeing to run through the chairs one more time as we fill a new leadership vacancy.
He not only leads at the local level but has also risen through the chairs at BIAW and currently serves as National State Representative for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), as well as Life Director for both BIACC and BIAW.
Doriot’s commitment to housing affordability, free enterprise and community service is evident in his long-standing involvement in organizations such as:
- Attorney General Rob McKenna’s Affordable Housing Council,
- WorkSource SW Workforce Council,
- Clark County Parks Foundation, and
- Cascadia Tech Construction Advisory Board, where he has served for 27 years, now as chair.
Over the years, he has earned numerous awards, including:
- BIACC’s Outstanding Leadership Award
- BIAW’s 2009 Builder Appreciation Award
- BIAW Builder of the Year in 2021
- The BIACC President’s Award, which he has received three times.
Doriot’s legacy will continue to influence the housing industry in Washington state for years to come, and we are grateful for his unwavering dedication to building a brighter future for us all.
