The BIAW Excellence in Remodeling (EIR) awards recognize the state’s outstanding remodeling projects showcasing quality craftsmanship in a variety of categories and price ranges. A panel of expert judges reviews each project, ensuring each meets strict criteria.

The Excellence in Remodeling award winners are honored during the EIR awards reception held in conjunction with the BIAW summer board meeting.

Hall of Fame

RECOGNIZES LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT IN SUPPORT OF THE HOME BUILDING INDUSTRY

Purpose

The purpose of the BIAW Hall of Fame is to honor men and women who have made significant and lasting contributions to BIAW. The Hall of Fame acknowledges lifetime achievement in the building industry. View Past Hall of Fame Recipients

Candidate Criteria

  • Persons (living or deceased) who have made significant and lasting contributions to BIAW
  • The contribution must have resulted in a substantial improvement or innovation in Washington’s housing and promotion of BIAW’s philosophy, which is to protect housing affordability and free enterprise (the financial success or size of an individual’s operation shall not be considered a real contribution)
  • It is not necessary to have served in an elected capacity at the state or local association level
  • Candidates must represent the highest levels of achievement in the building industry over an entire career
  • A candidate may not be nominated more than five consecutive times

 

Candidates will be selected from the following categories:

  • Builder/Developer: Owner or key administrator of a residential building company
  • Subcontractors and Materials Suppliers: Individuals directly responsible for supply goods or services to builders
  • Government: Elected or appointed officials involved in government service relating to housing
  • Housing Related: Individuals involved in related fields of endeavor such as financing, land development and planning, architecture, housing research, and housing-related trade associations
  • Hall of Fame recipients is honored during the BIAW Installation and Awards ceremony held in conjunction with the BIAW fall board meeting.

Builder of the Year

HONORS A TOP BUILDER MEMBER

Criteria for Nominees

The BIAW Builder, Associate, and Remodeler of the Year honors men and women who have made significant and lasting contributions to BIAW.

  • Builder of the Year: Builders engaged in construction in the year of the nomination and the year of the award’s presentation.
  • Associate of the Year: Nominee should be actively involved in the local and state home builders associations and their community.
  • Remodeler of the Year: Remodelers engaged in remodeling in the year of the nomination and the year of the award’s presentation.

Nominees should have been involved in projects at the local and state level, and active in their community.

Builder, Associate, and Remodeler of the Year winners are honored during the BIAW Installation and Awards ceremony held in conjunction with the BIAW fall board meeting.

Associate Advisory Council’s Star Builder Award

Honors a builder member who has contributed to the home building industry at the local, state, and national levels, as well as in their communities.

Purpose

The BIAW Associate Advisory Council’s Star Builder award recognizes builder members who give back to our industry at the local, state and national levels. In addition, winners are also recognized for their community service, political activity, and/or environmental efforts.

Star Builder award winners are honored during the BIAW winter board meeting.

Associate Advisory Council’s Star Associate Award

Honors an associate member who has contributed to the home building industry at the local, state, and national levels, as well as in their communities.

Purpose

The BIAW Associate Advisory Council’s Star Associate award recognizes associate members who give back to our industry at the local, state, and national levels. The award also recognizes associates’ community service, political activity, and/or environmental efforts.

The Association Advisory Council announces the Star Associate award winners during the BIAW fall board meeting.

RECRUITER RECOGNITION

Spike recruiters are BIAW members enthusiastic and passionate about recruiting and retaining members. Spikes build our vital membership base, which in turn strengthens our industry’s voice on critical issues at the local, state, and national levels. BIAW recognizes Spikes’ recruiting efforts and achievements with awards during board meetings. BIAW also hosts a Spikes-only event to honor their unwavering commitment to our association.
