The BIAW Education Program is an award-winning, comprehensive program supporting the needs and requests of BIAW members. BIAW is committed to helping you advance the depth and breadth of your professional experience. Whether you're looking to enhance your technical and professional knowledge in new technology, business strategies, marketing techniques, management skills, or constantly-evolving consumer demand, the BIAW Education Program offers a wide range of options. BIAW continues to add new programs, timely seminars and industry workshops on important builder issues. Using an approach tailored to fit the broad scope of our members, BIAW offers a variety of courses in several categories.

BIAW Now Accepting Education Program Scholarship Applications

BIAW is pleased to announce its 2018 Education Program Scholarship application is now available. In addition to funding for students pursuing a degree in home building industry-related fields, we also offer $10,000 for scholarships designated for technical/vocational and trade students.

A fillable 2018 Scholarship Application is available for your convenience.

The deadline to submit a scholarship application to BIAW is May 4, 2018.

Current Issues

BIAW offers seminars and workshops addressing current issues affecting the homebuilding industry, such as: Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL); building code updates; contracts; warranties; lien laws; and green building, to name a few.

Self Study

BIAW understands the challenge to find the time to attend continuing education classes. This is why we offer a self study education option to achieve the Residential Construction Superintendent (RCS) professional designation. The RCS consists of eight training modules designed to prepare participants for the role of the onsite superintendent. These classes are designed to fit around your schedule and from the comfort of your home. View the RCS self study FAQs for more information.

BIAW Real Estate School

The BIAW Real Estate School, a subsidary of the BIAW Education Program, offers members and non-members alike, the opportunity to earn real estate clock hours. Courses and instructors are approved by the Washington State Department of Licensing, Real Estate Commission.

Industry-Specific Training

As a sponsoring member of the Construction Industry Training Council (CITC), BIAW has opened new channels of information, educational opportunities and training for BIAW members. This partnership has allowed BIAW the opportunity to provide residential, construction-oriented, and apprenticeship training programs targeting specific skills needed in the homebuilding industry.

Please note: Due to Department of Revenue regulations, you must be invited to participate in BIAW class offerings. BIAW classes are not open to the general public.
