This NEW and EXCITING course builds on the CAPS I and CAPS II courses (which are prerequisites for this course) by introducing design solutions and techniques for professionals whose clients require specialized design and equipment to live and thrive comfortably in their homes. Whole house product specification and installation techniques will be covered accompanied by practical, hands-on activities. A few things you will take away from this class are:

Describe the challenging nature of design for aging in place projects.

Identify available innovative and specialized products.

Explain best practices for design and installation of key components in AIP home design.

Describe the importance of budget and early product selection

Identify common missteps for design and installation of AIP solutions.

Recommend the best solutions for common single-room modifications based on needs identified in a provided client assessment and a room survey.

List installation considerations for recommended modifications in a specified space.

Prioritize the comprehensive solutions based on previous exercises when integrated into a real-world whole house scenario.

Evaluate design considerations and installation requirements for recommended modifications based on whole house layout and circulation patterns.

Prioritize individual projects relative to budget, needs and urgency.

Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead-CESCL

3 Year Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead Certification ~ BIAW 12 CE, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) ~ NAHB As of January 1, 2018 the CESCL class, Non-Member price will increase to $350. Do you need a Construction Stormwater General Permit from Ecology? If your project disturbs over an acre of land or is in a subdivision, you probably do. Part of the requirements of this permit states: all sites disturbing over an acre must have a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL). The CESCL is trained to inspect, install, and manage stormwater controls on your site. Because Ecology requires CESCL to be on-call at all times, most companies will need more than one employee trained as a CESCL. Instructor: DOE Certified Instructor

Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP)-ONLINE

To receive the 18 RE Clock Hours, you must send your NAHB Certificate of Completion for this class and payment of *$25 * (New Fee in 2017) to the BIAW Education Department.
The cost of the class does not include the fee for the RE Continuing Education Certificate; BIAW Member $25; BIAW NON-Member $50.

NEW GRADUATION PROCESS FOR CSP, as of March 1, 2014, once you complete the CSP course you will receive a certificate of completion from NAHB. This certificate is just proof of your successful completion of the course. However, to earn the CSP designation , you must go to: www.nahb.org/apply4CSP. The NAHB graduation fee for NAHB members is $20 and for non-members it is $40 (graduation fee is not included in the price of the class). Once you complete this process, you will be able to download your designation certificate which formally states that you are a CSP.

This ONLINE VERSION of the CSP class with help you master the craft of successful selling. This professional-level course is designed for specialists in new home sales. You will gain a broad understanding of the home building business, discuss consumer psychology and learn the advanced techniques used by real estate veterans for greeting, closing and overcoming objections. Includes CSP I: The Art and Science of Selling, CSP II: Understanding New Home Construction, and CSP III: Selling Skills for New Home Sales Professionals. While the core content is the same as that of the in-person course, this dynamic online version is delivered in audio and video formats. It contains on-screen text, downloadable resources, a transcript of the course and a discussion forum where you can pose questions, share perspectives and enhance what you’ve learned. The online course offers the flexibility of taking it when you want and at your own pace. You have one year to complete the course and take the exam. NAHB requires that you score at least 70% on the test to receive your completion certificate.

CESCL Recertification

3 Year Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead Certification 6 CE, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) ~ NAHB As of January 1, 2018 the CESCL RECERT class, Non-Member price will increase to $275. Is your Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) designation about to expire? The Department of Ecology requires a CESCL on all stormwater permitted construction sites over an acre, and CESCL certifications must be renewed every three years with a one-day class. Designed for residential builders, BIAW's CESCL recertification course will answer the most-asked builder questions, including what BMP's perform best on construction sites, how to keep those BMP's working, what red flags signal erosion problems, and how to effectively work with local and state inspectors. The Lien section of the class will teach you how to prepare, record and foreclose a lien on either a commercial or residential project.
